Creative Direction for Brand and Product

About

Design-led. US-based. Oz-bred.
I put creativity to work to make brands loved, products great, and experiences memorable.

I'm a US-based creative director who specializes in campaigns, product design, branding, interface design, and all the areas in between. I enjoy collaborating to move projects from the earliest conceptual stages through to prototyping, design iteration, and optimization. I use the tools of visual communication to help brands and people connect in meaningful ways. This means always striving to create work that's intuitive, thoughtful, and imbued with personality. Over the years I've worked in four different countries with some amazing teams and had the pleasure of designing campaigns, systems, and digital experiences across platforms and sectors.

The best part? Things are always changing, there's always more to design, so the best is yet to come.

The Whole Story

Australian by birth, I studied at UC School of Design in Canberra, Australia and completed a BA in Graphic Design. Starting my career as a Graphic Designer in my hometown of Sydney, I worked on branding, packaging and magazine assignments. Shortly after came the jump into digital and I helped to start both Leo Burnett’s and Ogilvy’s digital disciplines in their Sydney offices. Working on accounts for IBM, QANTAS, Kellogg, Nokia, Pizza Hut, Telstra, Optus, Subaru, Stolichnaya and the ABC, my work spanned across varying digital media including websites, online advertising, kiosks, games, and installations.

After working in Australia, I moved to Europe working for Blueberry in London and Framfab in Copenhagen where I was responsible for award-winning work on Nike, Carlsberg, Electrolux, Volvo, and Sprite.

Coming to New York in 2005, I joined AKQA to open their new office. As a Group Creative Director, my responsibilities covered global creative work for Nike, Coca-Cola, Celebrity Cruises, Motorola, Google, Smirnoff, DoubleClick, Kraft and Johnson & Johnson.

Following AKQA, I moved to Publicis Modem NYC as SVP/Group Creative Director. Working between New York, Seoul, and San Francisco I headed up global creative duties for LG Worldwide across home electronics and appliances groups.

Moving to Mullen Lowe Profero in New York I served as Head of Creative/Executive Creative Director for working on Apple, New York Times, Smirnoff, Cointreau, Remy Martin, Milk, TRESemmé and Kaiser Permanente.

At Wednesday Agency I led global digital creative duties on Louis Vuitton, IRO, Olivela, Bulova, Wildfox, Harper's Bazaar and M.Monroe Jewelry.

Most recently I created, developed and built out Q Design, the internal creative agency of Quantcast, a world leader in helping brands grow in the AI era. With design studios in New York, San Francisco and London I led brand, communication, design, and visual storytelling projects across print, product, digital and events.

My work has been awarded Cannes Cyber Lions, One Show, LIAA and Clios and featured in publications such as Communication Arts and Fast Company and online at sites like the AdAge, FWA, Branding Served, and TypeNow.

I've also been a judge at the New York Festivals, ADCC, AIMIA and have had speaking engagements at Cannes Lions, Boards Summit, AppNation Conference, and other industry events.
